Pressure washing
Pressure washing, sometimes called chemical rinsing, is the process of using high-pressure water or a chemical and water mixture to remove mold, mildew, and dirt from driveways, patios, concrete, sidewalks, brick, siding, decks, and fences. To prevent damaging grass, plants, shrubs, and trees, biodegradable soap should be used.
Pressure washing machines are designed with interchangeable tips that allow the operator to vary the pressure and type of stream applied. Since an inexperienced operator might use the wrong tip and severely damage stucco, ruin a paint job, or even ruin a driveway's surface, always hire an insured professional.
Deck cleaning & sealing
Routine deck cleaning and sealing protects your investment and keeps your deck looking its best. Before the deck is cleaned, any surrounding plants and surfaces should be protected with water or drop cloths. Then, any remaining sealant must be stripped or cleaned from the deck by means of special wood cleaning/stripping chemicals. Typically, deck cleaning products contain bleach to kill mold and mildew. The cleaner can be applied by hand with a brush pole, with a hand pump-up sprayer, or through a pressure washer. The chemicals are then allowed some dwell time on the deck surface, to break down stains. This is followed by a light agitation by the pressure washer, then an initial rinse and a final rinse by the pressure washer. Some companies also apply a neutralizer or a wood brightener after the final rinse.
Window cleaners, gutter cleaners, and pressure
washers
Any company working at the home should carry both workers' compensation insurance and liability insurance. This is especially true for window cleaners, gutter cleaners, and pressure washers. Damage to property is always a possibility; due to the heights involved, worker injury is also possible. The Home Reports research identified a couple of very good options for this type of work.
